Memories of myself 2024

I started working on this installation during an Art Residency from the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art, NPAK with the support of the French Embassy in Armenia. The series consists of canvases that evoke a personal archive of feelings and memories. Each canvas is surrounded by barbed wire, a powerful symbol symbolizing the duality of memory - the ability of both positive and negative memories to cause pain. The barbed wire acts as a metaphorical boundary, embodying the emotional scars that remain inside us despite the passage of time. With this installation, I invite viewers into a space where memory is both preserved and opposed to each other, blurring the line between tenderness and suffering.
